You can prepare for a large part of the EPSO tests on EU Testing without paying anything, and this page says exactly how much. It also says what Premium adds, and when it is worth €7 a month.
Without an account
Open the site and start. With no sign-up you get:
- The first 25 questions of Set 1, a full AD5 practice set: EU knowledge, digital skills, verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning.
- The first five questions of each Reasoning Focus card: two verbal, two numerical and three abstract cards.
- Every guide article, including the practice pages for numerical, verbal and abstract reasoning.
- The salary calculator, with the official grid for every grade.
- Chapter 1 of the EU Knowledge series, complete with audio, slides, infographic and report.
- A preview of everything else: the five EU job vacancies closing soonest, one item per section of the weekly EU news report, the institutions map for Luxembourg, two of the ten categories of the exam checklist (13 items), one of the six categories of curated links (5 links), and ten pages of each study bible.
Your results are kept in the browser you use.
With a free account
A free account needs an email address and no card. It adds two things:
- All of Set 1: 110 questions instead of 25, so you can sit a full practice set in the real test’s structure.
- Your progress saved to your account, not to one browser, so you can continue on another device.
That is enough to find out where you stand. Take Set 1 under real timing, and you will know which test needs the most work.

A plan that uses the free tier first
The cheapest way to prepare is to spend your free time well and to buy Premium for the weeks when you need volume.
- Learn the formats for free. Read the guides for the three reasoning tests and work through their practice pages. Try the first five questions of each Focus card to see the hardest level.
- Take Set 1 as a mock test. Create a free account and sit all 110 questions under real timing. Your score in each test tells you where to spend the next weeks.
- Take Premium for the final four to six weeks. Use Sets 2 to 8 as timed mock tests, one or two a week, and use the Focus cards for your weakest test: 60 questions each, from medium to very hard. If the EU knowledge test is part of your competition, the EU Policies bible and the EU Knowledge chapters cover it.
- Cancel at any time. One click in your account menu; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
When Premium is worth it
Premium is worth it when you want more than the study material. On top of all 1,475 practice questions, both study bibles and every EU Knowledge chapter, it opens every resource listed above: the two essay tasks with written feedback, the full job board with the archive and saved jobs, the institutions map for all 27 countries, the complete weekly EU news report, the whole exam checklist and all the curated links. The free tier shows you the format; Premium gives you the whole toolkit, for €7 a month.
EPSO’s own free material
Use it too. EPSO publishes sample questions for each reasoning test on its selection website, and the test platform, TAO, offers public practice sessions where you can try the interface without being scored. Our TAO guide explains how to open them. They show you the format and the screen; they do not give you volume or explanations, which is where practice sets come in.
Paying and cancelling
Premium is one plan at €7 a month, paid through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account menu; your access continues to the end of the period you paid for and the subscription is not renewed. The terms explain the details.
